Looking for Light is a new light sculpture mixing wood, metal, electronics and 3D printing. Both a beacon and a warning light, this new creation questions our relationship to reality through the prism of new modes of communication. How not to drown in an ocean of information? How do you find your way through the shifting darkness in the era of post-truth, fake news and spheres of influence? How do you find hope in streams of data dictated by increasingly opaque algorithms?

After Revolution and State of Stasis, this creation continues to blur the boundaries between tangible artwork and digital artwork. A sculpture centered on light and its colors, which come to dress and give life to a hand pointed towards the sky, projecting plays of shadows and lights in the room.

Looking for Light questions the biases of perception that we have woven between ourselves and the reality of the world. The explosion of communication systems, social networks and global interconnectivity has given rise to the paradox where these tools are both the problem and the solution, the evil and the remedy. If we are inundated daily with increasingly sterile and contrived content, increasingly short and frantic, in search of ever more ephemeral buzz, how do we find hope? How can we see solutions emerge to the problems of social inequalities, wars, biodiversity loss or climate change? How can we imagine the possibility of dialogue if our interactions are driven by increasingly ubiquitous algorithms?

Looking for Light est une sculpture lumineuse mélangeant bois, métal, électronique et impression 3D. À la fois balise et feu de détresse, cette nouvelle création interroge notre rapport à la réalité au travers du prisme des nouveaux modes de communication. Comment ne pas se noyer dans un océan d’informations ? Comment trouver son chemin dans les ténèbres mouvant de l’ère de la post-vérité, de la fake-news et des sphères d’influences ? Comment trouver l’espoir dans des flux de données dictées par des algorithmes de plus en plus opaques ?

Dans la lignée de Revolution et State of Stasis, cette création brouille les frontières entre œuvre tangible et numérique. Une sculpture centrée sur la lumière et ses couleurs, qui viennent donner vie à une main tendue vers le ciel, projetant des jeux d’ombres et de lumières dans la pièce.

Comment voir émerger des solutions aux inégalités sociales, aux guerres, à la perte de biodiversité ou au dérèglement climatique ? Comment imaginer la possibilité d’un dialogue si nous interactions sont orientées par des algorithmes de plus en plus omniprésents ?
