Geometry of Emotions is an immersive, interactive, and generative digital artwork, born from a collaboration between digital artist Parse/Error (Fabien Bouchard) and French electronic/generative musician Matthieu Pernaud. A creation specially imagined for REXPERIENCE, or RXP.KL, the largest immersive art space in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur).

Lasting 15 minutes, this experience is displayed in a massive immersive space and includes video projections on the floor and on three walls (20 video projectors), with spatialized sound diffusion (16 speakers). This entire creation is generative and interactive, capable of reacting in real time to the presence of spectators, thanks to a LIDAR sensor, in order to adapt its visual and sound content. Geometry of Emotions uses Unreal Engine 5 for the visual, and Ableton / Max For Live / XP4L for the spatialized sound. The immersive space is based on an nDisplay system driven by Unreal Engine and Touchdesigner.

Geometry of Emotions offers a journey into the heart of our emotions in a world overwhelmed by digital technology, exploring the concept of the duality between geometry/organic, artificial/natural. Through a path intertwining geometric abstractions, figurative elements, and organic movements, this creation provides a contemplative sensory experience. This experience is conceived as an evolution, a journey, between noise and calm, artificial and natural, where color palettes and movements are jointly treated under the filter of our emotions. Interactivity here offers the possibility of dialogue, allowing the spectator to influence the artwork and be influenced in return.

Geometry of Emotions explores the duality we embody, porously mixing organic entity and digital creature. Here, thousands of simple or complex geometric shapes are born, live, and disappear in organic movements inspired by flocks of birds or schools of fish, evoking both the data flows surrounding us and the thoughts and emotions that pass through us. The constantly evolving colors represent the multiple changing emotions we experience, confronted by the constant stimulation of omnipresent data flows.

Une création imaginée spécialement pour REXPERIENCE, ou RXP.KL, le plus grand espace d’art immersif de Malaisie (Kuala Lumpur).

Cette expérience de 15min est diffusée dans un espace immersif de grande dimension et inclut des projections vidéo au sol et sur trois murs (20 vidéo projecteurs 4K), avec une diffusion sonore spatialisée (16 haut parleurs). L’ensemble de cette création est générative et interactive, capable de réagir en temps réel à la présence des spectateurs, grâce à un capteur LIDAR, afin d’adapter son contenu visuel et sonore. Geometry of Emotions utilise le moteur Unreal Engine 5 pour le visuel, et Ableton / Max For Live / XP4L pour le son spatialisé. L’espace immersif repose sur un système nDisplay piloté par Unreal Engine et Touchdesigner.

Geometry of Emotions propose un voyage au cœur de nos émotions dans un monde envahi par le numérique, explorant la notion de dualité géométrie/organique, artificiel/naturel. Mêlant abstractions géométriques, éléments figuratifs et mouvements organiques, cette création offre une expérience sensorielle contemplative, un parcours entre le bruit et le calme, l’artificiel et le naturel. L’interactivité offre ici un dialogue, permettant au spectateur d’influer sur l’œuvre, et d’être influencé en retour.

Geometry of Emotions explore la dualité que nous incarnons, entre entité organique et créature numérique. Ici des milliers de formes géométriques simples ou complexes, naissent, vivent et disparaissent dans des mouvements organiques inspirés par ceux des nuées d’oiseaux ou des bancs de poisson, évoquant autant les flux de données qui nous entourent que les pensées et émotions qui nous traversent. Les couleurs en constante évolution sont le reflet des émotions changeantes et multiples qui nous traversent, confrontés à la stimulation constante des flux de données omniprésents.
