Why Bother With Reality? – Revolution
Réinterprétation moderne du mythe de la caverne de Platon, Revolution est la dernière partie du projet Why Bother With Reality? (part 1 / part 2 / part 3). Un travail autour de l’ombre et de la lumière, une sculpture lumineuse pensée pour envahir l’espace, modifiant notre perception en projetant des formes sans cesse en mouvement.
Perdue dans un océan d’écrans, noyée dans une overdose de fausses informations et de divertissements, elle était incapable de percevoir le monde tourner autour d’elle. Le monde brûlait alors qu’elle se plongeait dans des réalités alternatives. Une réflexion sur la réalité du monde et ce que nous voulons en percevoir, sur les interactions humaines à l’ère des réseaux sociaux, à travers notre façon de nous voir nous-mêmes, mais aussi la façon dont nous nous révélons aux autres.
Revolution combine une sculpture antique scannée en 3D, puis retravaillée et imprimée en 3D, avec un dispositif lumineux circulaire fabriqué sur mesure. Ce cercle de lumière permet de créer un éclairage cyclique inspiré par la course du Soleil. Une installation produisant des interactions d’ombres et de lumière sur la sculpture elle-même, mais enveloppant également l’ensemble de la pièce, créant une atmosphère immersive propice à la contemplation.

Why Bother With Reality? – Revolution
A modern reinterpretation of Plato’s allegory of the cave, Revolution is the last part of the Why Bother With Reality? project (part 1 / part 2 / part 3). An artwork about shadow and light, a light sculpture designed to invade space, modifying our perception by projecting constantly moving shapes.
Lost in an ocean of screens, drowned in an overdose of fake information and entertainment, she was unable to perceive the world revolving around her. The world was burning as she was diving into alternate realities. A reflection on the reality of the world and what we want to perceive of it, on human interactions in the age of social networks, through the way we see ourselves, but also the way we reveal ourselves to others.
Revolution combines an antique sculpture scanned in 3D, then reworked and 3D printed, with a custom-made circular light fixture. This circle of light creates a cyclic lighting inspired by the course of the Sun. An installation producing interactions of light and shadow on the sculpture itself, but also enveloping the entire room, creating an immersive atmosphere suitable for contemplation.
